on his birthday...

That's my birthday man! This morning I woke up like any old weekday and headed to work. However, I secretively didn't have work. I plotted against Bobby and surprised him. Bobby went about his morning and little did he know when the door bell rang that I was hiding out of sight. He came down, opened the door and I jumped out yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I basically scared the bejeezus out of him but it caught him off guard and I was a happy camper.

I plopped his gift in his lap and was eager for him to open it. Sebastian and I got the best daddy & husband ever the brand new Ipad 2 :) He had the biggest smile I've ever seen and made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Love seeing that.

I didn't make big plans for the day being that it was 100 degrees outside, there was little I could think of to do that would be fun & for us not to deep fry. So, we grabbed our bathing suits and headed for the family pool. Perfect for a day like today! Sebastian loves the pool. I on the other hand have to be in the mood to take a dip in the pool and today was perfect for a soak.

The last two photos make me laugh.

Bobby's been playing around with his gem. The very first app he downloaded was some sort of game called "Contract Killer". Ha. Men will be well, men! Another birthday came and went and many more to come. It was kind of nice looking for a birthday card this time around...a husband card :)

on a thank-you...

thank you...

...for always being there when I need you and always knowing the right thing to say.

...for being the best father and loving our son with all your heart!

...for understanding that I turn into a Glee or Vampire Diaries Nazi. You just know not to talk to me when I am engulfed in my shows.

...for having a positive demeanor when I have a cleaning binge. And I know somethings it can get a little scary!

...for supporting and helping me with all our wedding planning in the past 8 months. It was a dream come true!

...for understanding that some days when I get home from work I am exhausted and helping with Sebastian so I can rest.

...for spoiling me :) and making me feel special all the time.

...for always working your hardest at whatever you are doing. Whether it's at your day job, washing the dishes or vacuuming, working at your Dad's shop, changing my oil, or just taking the trash out. I appreciate all the big & small things you do for us.

...for giving me a hug or kiss when I am too wrapped up in life.

...for believing in me and encouraging all of my dreams, even the silly ones.

...for being my husband. Despite all the ups and down you truly the only one that completes me :)

Happy Birthday!

on a birthday dinner...

After having George taken care of we got back to our birthday dinner shindig for Bobby. Since this real birthday (8th) falls on a Wednesday I thought it would be nice to celebrate with the family yesterday since we would be over to have family fun day anyways. I had decided early in the week that it would be yummy to grill some homemade pizza. Bobby did too! He picked out three pizzas. Vegetable Pizza, Ham & Tomato and Pizza alla Siciliana! I had really had a great time putting these together with the help of mom & aunt Cheryl.
Ham & Cheese

 Pizza alla Siciliana

 Vegetable Pizza
Excuse the awkward picture of me. I really only posted this up to show case my pizzas along side me :) Honestly, I think I look drunk but I assure you I'm not!

Dinner was amazing. (Oh, meet Sean. Bobby's oldest friend ever)
To work it off we played some badminton. Nicole and I totally kicked the boys butts!!
Sebastian and his cousin went out on an adventure to pick sticks for the bond fire. By the way, as you can tell Sebastian is walking around in his undies :) Very proud of him for going on the potty ALL weekend long :D My boy is growing up!
We sang Happy Birthday to Bobby and Sebastian help blow the candles out.
Bobby chose a lovely fruit topped cheese cake. My heart ached when I finally had to cut into it. It was so stunning I didn't want to disrupt it.
And then a very rich Reese's Cup Pie.
We sat by the fire, ate cake, drank coffee or tea and chit-chatted.
The pool in the evening is my favorite. It is so magical.
S'mores! I think this was the highlight of both Bobby and my night. I was looking forward to this gem :D And boy was it good!

My hubby is turning 27 on Wednesday♥

on George the raccoon...

HI.
Today was grand.
Let me start out with saying that my hubby saved and rescued a baby raccoon last night! Last night he was headed over late at night to help one of his close friends with their car when he noticed a baby raccoon wandering around our driveway heading toward the road. Bobby was instantly scared for the little guys life and so he made a safe home inside a box outside. After calling Aunt Cheryl for advise, after calling the police station to see what animal control could do, after calling two rehab centers it all turned out to be too late and no one would be any help. He used a shovel and gently set it in the box (I know shovel might sound barbaric but unfortunately it's the safe thing to do...you never know). I really didn't know about all this because I already had fallen asleep for the night and was only aware of our little pal this morning. Meet George.
Cutest little thing ever. He was pretty frightened but I don't blame him. We had no idea what to feed him and after a few tries like milk & bananas nothing really tickled his fancy. We were some what nervous as to what to do with him since no one was getting back to us on a Sunday but we had already had plans so we set out for the day and left him home. As soon as we got to mom & dad's house Bobby received a call from a lady who is a raccoon "expert" at a wildlife rehabilitation. After talking to her she assured us that if we didn't bring him in to her today that he might not survive another day!!! We couldn't have that so Bobby drove all the way back home, scooped him up and drove him out to the wildlife clinic. Bobby found out the George was only four weeks old and George is really a boy (I just had a feeling, what can I say!). And he was a little dehydrated but nothing serious. The lady said that if he wouldn't of gotten some formula in his little belly soon that he probably wouldn't of lived another night. Phew! I am so happy the George is in good hands & safe.

on some goodies...

My new toys :D
This lovie was one of my first gifts from our amazing Aunt Cheryl!
Julee got me such a fun cupcake recipe book that Sebastian and I will have a ball with plus the festive spatula. It's currently just sitting on my counter in my kitchen because I like looking at it so much :)

I couldn't believe my eyes. A PANINI maker! Jumping in glee. Tanya my best friend/maid of honor sent us this. How fun is that packaging it came it! MMmmmm, yummy mozzarella & tomato panini's. Mouth.Is.Watering.

Pyrex. Amazing. Donut pan. Unbelievable. I've been needing this great donut pan every since I saw the lovely donuts Kaylah made on her blog The Dainty Squid. And now I can make them here in my kitchen. Oh dear lord I'm in trouble. Thanks Diana :D

Last but not least...
..Drum roll please..
My shiny green apple Kitchen Aid.
I am in love.
I heart my daddy with everything I got.

Gahhhh. Get ready for this blog to blow up with delicious things. Because let me tell you, I have every tool to make anything my heart desires.
Thank you to each and everyone of you. I am blessed to have all of you :)

on who I am...

I am..

...proud to have acquired this lovely summer dress from my little sissy! We usually steal give each other at least one piece of clothing whenever we see one another. Like a trade. It's cute.

...so excited to finally be a wife. Everyone has been asking me if it feels any different. And all I can say to them is it feels great! I am truly blessed to be married to my Mr.

...getting back into the swing of things. Although I did experience a slight hiccup this morning. Dufus me locked my keys inside the house. Then my phone decided to not turn on for me this morning. There I was with Sebastian in my arms outside with no phone and no idea what to do. Well, I needed a phone to call Bobby so I headed over to my elderly neighbors house and knocked. I instantly became super embarrassed because as soon as I started knocking Bill (our neighbor) walks out of a room sporting some very white tighty whites. Oh god. I thought I was going to die! Mind you Bill is in his late 70's (bless him) and had really no idea I was standing there...I managed to knock one more time, harder and caught his attention. He saw both Sebastian and I standing there and had the biggest smile on his face. I don't think he realized he was in his underwear at that point. Right before opening the door he told me he'll be right back. And so he did but this time he was fully clothed. I asked to use his phone and told him what happened and he let us right in. First thing he asked after handing me the phone was if I'd like cup of tea:) Love it! I declined though, because we know I don't want hot tea spilling all over me with the way my morning was going. Long story short, sort of, I got a hold of Bobby. He came home. I got my keys and rushed to work. I was lucky that Bobby worked last night and was already on his way home. And even luckier that my boss Dave was scheduled to be in at work this morning. And even even more lucky that Dave is a cool guy and was understanding. He said he was worried I got in an accident! That's my stories for you today. Did you like?!? I'm actually full of stories lately, I'll be sharing another very soon. Wait tell you hear this one!

...loving my blonde hair. Get comments on it all the time. I apparently can rock this hair color, that's what their telling me. Go me!

...overwhelmed with the crazy random acts of kindness that has been fallen upon me. Yesterday one of my regular lady customers handed me a $10 tip. I at first refused it because I just couldn't except. But she was very adamant and so I gave in. How generous is that? I couldn't get over it all day. Then today the lady who comes in weekly to water and take care of all the plants and flowers, Joan, inside my mall gave me a lovely plant/flower thingy. It's pink and tall and called a bromeliad plant. And perfect timing because I have been telling myself that my flower pots need to be filled and soon!! Totally perfect.

...ready for some changes.

...thrilled about Bobby's birthday on Wednesday :) He is turning 27! I tease him about being old all the time. Well, older than me :D But then again most people are older than me. Ha. Sunday I am hosting a fun little shindig at Mom & Dad's place. Grilling up some homemade pizza's picked out by Bobby himself. Should be very yummy. More to report on Sunday though! (by the way, he is going to faint when he finally gets to see what I got him for his birthday! Hooray!)

...attempting to be a little more social. It's ridiculous how much of a homebody I am!

...sad that all my favorite shows are over :( Like depressed. Like I feel like there is a whole in my soul. Like I know I am a geek but deal with it. Anyone know of any good shows to watch this summer?? And don't say True Blood because, trust me, I already have that marked on my calendar!!
