on this or that...

Still trying to get used to Bobby's work schedule. Every two weeks it changes. This week he is back to doing the night shift. So by the time I get home from work we have almost 3 hours to spend with each other before he heads to work around 6pm. Therefore I have that amount of time to get my blogging out of the way as well. I try to create some sense of what I want to tell you all in my head way before I get home. Like at work while I pour coffee :)
It was super weird lastnight, for some darn reason I could not sleep. I think it's the knowledge that Bobby won't be next to me. Before he got his promotion he was still doing 2nd shift and wouldn't get home til 1am. So, most the time I would already be in bed--but I think the fact that I knew he was going to be home next to me at some point made the difference. Now it's just me in our queen size bed. I don't know what to do with myself! Hoping tonight I can try to get some shut eye.

Last night I cooked up a new reciepe-- Sausage, Lentil & Spinach Soup. It's something that I got out of one of my older Everday Food magazines by Martha Stewart. The reciepe though, called for Kale instead of spinach but I knew Bobby would make a dreadful face once he found out Kale was inside his soup. I avoid that face as much as possible! The change is great though, I don't have a problem with Kale but spinach added a nice touch as well as the Tortallini that I snuck into it. Have you ever try to cook Kale in any of your dishes? To be honest, I think I've only had Kale once and that was at a dinner Bobby and I had at his friend Kashian's who is Thai and made a dish with Kale which was sauted..I believe. It was a while ago when Bobby and I first met, but I remember it was interesting eating it. Anywho, here is my Sausage, Lentil & Spiniach Soup!--
Not sure about you but I loooooove soup. The more 'stuff' in the soup the better. I don't think I've ever stuck with the reciepe when it comes to soup. This soup has Sweet Italian Sausage that you have to break up with a wooden spoon. First of all, let me stop there. Have you ever tried breaking Italian Sausauge up with a wooden spoon??? Ummmm impossible. I'm telling you right now it can't be done. I had to pull out a knife to cut the sausage and then eventually after cutting it up I was able to use the wooden spoon to break the pieces even smaller. Sorry, I had to add that in because I was thinking to myself (as I was cooking away) that Martha must have some sort of special wooden spoon. Mine was just not doing the trick. Moving on. Then add a little celery & onion. I used about 1/2 cup of dried lentils and 7 cups of chicken broth. Once I brought the soup to a boil I added about a handful of spinach cut into shreds and a handful of some cheese filled Tortallinis that I get at Samsclub. Those cook fast so you have to put them last otherwise they will cook too mush. And we so don't want that! There you are, my soup creation. I'm not so focused on measurment when it comes to soup because you really can't go wrong. Try it, not only do I recommend it but Sebastian gave it two thumbs up. That means something my friend!

I'm too pleased to say that everyone has r.s.v.p-ed back for my Pillsbury Potluck! Everyone has commented on how the idea is a great one!

The weather man is calling for snow tomorrow night. I guess it's going to start around midnight tomorrow and snow all the way into Saturday. Estimates about 6-12 inches. Boy, I'm so excited....NOT! Whatever. I can't wait for Spring. Yay for floral dresses and cute flats!

Did I mention I pre-ordered my New Moon dvd! I ordered it at F.Y.E. There is one right next to my coffee shop and I know the dude that manages it, Pete, who is a hoot! Well, don't be jealous, but I ordered the special addition movie--not only that but it comes with a box set that will hold all four of the Twilight Saga! Eeeeeeeeeek!(doing a little jig).

Time to get off and hand over this stupid laptop. I am not to happy with those Geeks. They are taking their good ol' time with my lappy.
OH SHOOT. I just realized that it's Thursday! That means Vampire Diaries and Supernatural on TONIGHT...did I tell you that I have this craving for popcorn lately. Don't ask.

on having some fun

Very fun day I must say.
Let me show you :)
Such a cutie in the poncho, kept him nice and dry!
Dad showing him how it's done :)
My heart & soul
Tea party. What can I say, the kid brings out my imaginations hahaaa!

Just like dad...

After having a fun day at Please Touch we went to the mall. Bobby needed a winter hat/beeney since his were getting pretty tattered. Well, we ended up finding two of them at Zumiez and I ended up leaving the mall with two shopping bags with one longsleeve, two tee-shirts and cute shortsleeve cardigan for the spring. But the best part is I only spent about twenty dollars!!! Deals my friend, deals! That is how I roll. I'm happy!

Later on tonight I had to go to the doctors. This happend to be my first time with this new doctor lady and I did like her. She was very easy going and had a sense of humor. The best part is that she knew what she was talking about. I am very picky about my doctors, as you should be. Right? I just have a hard time with those doctors that spin you around in circles and still you end up right back where you started or not anywhere at all. I've had too much experience with those kinds. For me, after a while dealing with the constant stupiditiy makes me not want to go and I tend to let whatever is bothering me run it's course. I know, I know...not good but, come on! It does get old. Finally, I've found someone that I am comfortable with and hopefully will help me out in figuring out what the hell is wrong with me. hahaha.

"kick 'n' punch for the first of the month!!"...

...and your're suppose to say "punch 'n' kick for being so quick". What is up with Philadelphia and not knowing about this little quirkey saying?! I was at work explaining to people and all I got was puzzled looks. I guess it's a Seattle thing.

Here are some noteworthy things for the this month--

This proves to show how much my little boy is growing up! We got him his very own potty :) We thought it was time to introduce our friend the "potty". Sebastian was very intrigued by it and did sit for a long while pushing Elmo's hand who would say some cute encouraging stuff to get him loving potty time! I am very excited to show Sebastian the ropes and get my little man potty savey.

Staying on the topic of Sebastian. I am excited for Valentines Day! All because he will be having his first party at daycare with all his friends :) V-day is actually on a Sunday but his group (which is called the Gummie Bears!) will be having a very sweet party on Friday. I am excited for him passing out his Valentines cards and some yummy cuppy cakes that his momma (that's me!) made. I already signed up on the parent sign up sheet for what I will be making :) Sooooooooooo cool!

I think I've decided on the reciepes that I will be making at my Pillbury Potluck--
Asian-Spiced Cashew-Chicken Piadinis
Roast Beef and Gorgonzola Hoagies
And how can I forget of course the Million Dollar winner Pecan-Sweet Potato Appetizers!!
Bobby and I have planned on having our little dinner party on the 27th :) Can't wait!

Well, tomorrow I am off of work and so we will be going to have a nice fun day at the Please Touch Musuem with my boys. We've been there once before but Sebastian was only about 6 or 7 months and wasn't able to get the full effect of all the fun-ness. Then I must unfortunatly go to the doctors for a quick check up since I've been experiencing some lame stomach problems and must go before they get any worse. Not something I enjoy doing but It's a must.
Have a good week. Remember to be happy & thankful. I'd say the world needs more of that.

on a few good things

Yesterday was Saturday. I had to work. It's a bummer working on the weekends but it's a must every once in a while. Today wasn't too bad since, thank god, the shop was busy and I was on the move all day.
I figured since I was working that Bobby and Sebastian would meet me at work and we would find something to do (it's nice to work in a mall at times). So decided we would check out Krazy City. It's a family fun zone. Best way I can describe it is that it's an up scale Chuckie Cheese geared fowards younger children. It was fun! Sebastian's favorite was the ball pit. He spent most of his time there and eventually browsed around and ended up playing some Skee Ball with me & shot some Hoops with his dad.
Great Fun.

Now today is Sunday. And what a beautiful Sunday it is! I was happy to see the sunshine (after it snowed last night) when I woke up to my little boy talking away. The best part was looking at my clock next to my bed that read 8:30am!!! YES! Sebastian rocks! He is very very good to me :)
Today will just be an errands/shopping day. We will be hitting up Samsclub to buy all our bulk needs, like all paper products and frozen foods. I also buy my meats there too. It's great because I use alot of chicken breast and they have huge packs that last me a long while, I just put the extra in the freezer. So convenient. Then we just end our shopping adventure at Acme (which for everyone on the Westside is also known as Albertsons).
Okay, now that I mentioned Acme I NEED to tell you something I'm very excited about. Granted my verion of "excited" might not be so exciting for you but it is for this lady.
Anyways, Acme is doing an awesome limited time deal where every time you spend ten dollars you have a chance to be earning FREE professional cookware. So every ten dollars you recieve a sticker that you place in a booklet that they give you. Once you hit the 40th sticker you can get the first piece of cookware which is 7.8-inch nonstick frying pan , if you choice too. See at first I was confused because I thought (and thought way wrong) that everytime you hit a maker you get the cookware, but no. If you want to you can cash in your stickers but then you lose all of them to get that one cookware. Does that make sense?? Yeah, so I was a little disappointed at first but then quickly forgot about it since we shop at Acme all the time and didn't think it would be all that hard to collect me some cookware! Now there are one hundred stickers and on the 100th sticker you get a roasted pan with rack. Naturally that's what I want! Why? Because first of all it's valued at $89.99 and second because it's something I don't have and I know I will never really spend the money in getting myself one.
This what my booklet looks like--
I'm pleased to announce that I was able to finally cash my stickers in--

Isn't it a beaut?!?! I know I won't be using it everyday but it's fantastic to know I have it!
Also, the offer will be going up until April 1st so I have plenty of time to earn some more cookware. I am either shooting for the 10.6-inch Square Grill Pan which is 70 stickers or the 9.4-inch Dutch Oven with lid which is 80 stickers...
Gotta love it!

My kitchen is evolving at a steady pace. Thanks to Lori, the mother-inlaw. She was a sweetheart and got me lots of nice things at Christmas time for my kitchen. My two favoirtes are my William-Sonoma mixing bowls and Acuto stainless steal knife!

My bowls are so handy. Three different sizes of bowls plus the mixing bowl with handle is just fab!

You won't even imagine how amazing this knife is. It's made out of stainless steal and cuts every thing like butter! Cutting potatos is a breeze along with meats & veggies! Plus the color is so eye catching and with it's hygienic nonstick surface it's so easy to clean. Makes cooking pleasant.

Well, I think I've about summed up a few good things. Now time to get things done!

"I don't even now what I was running for - I guess I felt like it"

What a day, what a day. Not only was it a crazy day at work but also very intersting at home. I really can't believe how much my little boy is growing & changing. First of all, after his dinner he started rummaging through my pantry and found a box of cake mix. As I was washing dishes he came up to me, tugged on my pants and showed/handed me the box of cake mix. I couldn't help but laugh. THE BOY WANTED SOME CAKE :) So, we had some cake for dessert. He also has this new thing with lotion. Not just any lotion but Momma's lotion. He takes it off of my night stand, hands it to me and shows me his hand. I put a dolop of it onto his palm and he rubs both his hands together. I know! Cute! But then he wants to do it over and over and over again. After the 4th time I had to draw the line. At least his hands are nice and moisturized!

It's a sad day as well since today was the day Mr. JD Salinger died. At 91 though. Not bad. If you don't know who Salinger is then obviously you didn't go to highschool! Catcher in the Rye is definitly in my top ten favorite books. The tale of teenage rebellion caught many peoples attention but also turned heads because of his crud language and pretty blunt sexual remarks. Anyways, bet you anything Catcher in the Rye will be top selling book this week at the book stores.

Well, Vampire Diaries is getting super good. Every episode is getting better every time. I'm not going to get into it but alot was unfolded tonight, which gets me all giddy inside :-P

on some stuff...

26/365
Yes, this is me fresh out of the shower. Sorry I had to do it. It's one of those classic no make-up, hair wet & curly looks, that you will probably never ever see of me again. So, consider yourself lucky my friend :) But I did observe that my eyes are looking mighty green. Hhmm.

Today is the day that I offically made an oath to never iron Bobby's dress/work shirts ever again. I will not lie to you. I suck at it. It's not that I can't do it. It's just that I flat out totally despise it. First of all since I am me which means that I have to have the shirt perfect, even if that means me standing there going back & forth, back & forth until that one crease is out. It literally took me 20 minutes to iron one shirt. That's not normal. Right? Well, I don't care because, like I said, I made an oath. That oath is that I, personally will take all his shirt to the dry cleaners every week just so it will eliminate me having to do it and so I can look at him in the frickin' shirts without wincing. If that makes me lazy or selfish...BITE ME!

I think I want to do a dinner soon. Like in the month of February. Not 100% as to when but I want to do something fun! For instance, beautiful Julee in her blog My Happy Life by the Bay  brought up a cool idea for a get together (she never fails to be creative!)...since she is the bomb and is a finialist in the 44th annual Pillsbury Bakeoff aaaannnnddd now that all the topseceret (well, not so topsecret anymore) reciepes are out including hers, I think it would be neat to do a Plilsbury Potluck. Everyone who attends, picks something of their choice off of the BakeOff page, cooks it up & brings it to share with the rest! I think it would be totally fun and what better than get full off of appetizers. Lets do it!! Keep your calendars free people.

Moving on. So, I came across this...
WHATT! It's coming out March 6th. It kind of looks Anime just from the cover and naturally I'm not too into that sort of thing BUTTT I'm pretty much counting down the days, not to mention I've already pre-ordered it. I don't care what you think. It's Twilight. 'Nough said ;)

Well, that's it for tonight. I'm very proud that I've posted twice in one week considering that I don't have my laptop. Still. And Bobby's laptop does not motivated me what so ever. Can't wait to hear from those Geeks.I'm not sure how much longer I can survive. Blahh.

I'm still here!!

...Yes, I am still here. It's not my fault. I swear. So it turned out my computers power cord was not the problem! One day my new power cord came in the mail and I naturally plugged it right in when I got home from work thinking that my day turned out to be a good one...with my luck still nothing happend. No light showing it's charging, NO sign of life at ALL! Thank god I still have warranty at BestBuy. We took it back and they ended up saying the power supply on the Motherboard is busted. BOO! Now you see, you understand right. I have no computer, although that isn't the total truth since Bobby does have one but it sucks. I WANT MINE BACK! Who knows when I will be getting a call. Those Geeks better hurry it up.

...Saturday sucked balls. I got one of those 24 hour stomach bug thingys. Consisted of throwing up everything that went down my throat, 102 degree fever, abdominal cramps (the worst ever!) and of course a splitting headache. Not fun at all, espically since Bobby had work 7am-7pm. Right now I am just praying that my boys don't catch this nasty stupid bug!

...I am finally feeling caught up with everything since we got back from Seattle.

...My dad told me that the doctor is telling him that he will be needing neck & shoulder surgery. He has been suffering with pains for quite a while now, it's all those construction jobs and carrying heavy beams on his shoulders years ago. Not good. Wondering if I have enough left in me...

...I majorly need to go on a shopping spree. I need clothes. So, it made me extremely happy (after a couple days of pouting and whinning) when Bobby said that next pay day he will be treating me to a new wardrobe. I'm not spoiled...

...very eager to get a couple more tattoos this year as well as piercings ;) I have so many ideas, I just need to buckle down and decide. Talk about hemming and hawing. It will happen though. Trust me.

...realized that I still haven't posted up Project 365 but rest assure once I get my handy dandy lappy back that will be the first on my list.

...I'm feeling like I would like to buy more flowers. Enjoy them. Smell them. Love them.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for being there.
